Welcome to our Year 2 page

We have been busy in Year 2! We have participated in several sports events, shared our learning in assemblies and looked after worms in our class wormery!

Poem of the Month

If I Were…

If I were a queen,
I’d rule a mighty land.
If I were a princess,
I’d take a prince’s hand.

If I were a soldier,
I’d fight a mighty war.
If I were a hero,
I’d be the best they ever saw.

If I were a dancer,
I’d dance with such grace.
If I were a runner,
I’d win every race!

If I were an actress,
I’d take part in a play,
For I can do anything,
No matter what you say.

To help with the smooth running of our classroom, and to maximise the children’s learning, please could you make sure they have the following items in school every day:

– water bottles

– reading books and diaries (even if you didn’t get a chance to read them)

– full PE kit, including a change of footwear

– a pair of wellies on our boot rack

Please make sure all items are CLEARLY NAMED. Where possibly, try to check your children’s clothes as you put them in the wash or iron them, returning any items they have picked up accidentally so we can reunite them with their owner.

REMEMBER:

  • Spellings will be given out on a Friday and tested on the following Friday.
  • Children need their PE kits on Mondays and Wednesdays.
  • All children need to have a water bottle and sunhat in school (on sunny days).
  • Reading books and reading records must be in school every day.
